We performed our general rehearsal yesterday at Fundação Cidade das Artes, where tomorrow will be the final presentation.We will count with the presence of two Danish musicians, they are: Christina von Bülow and Morten Ankarfeldt.
On May 15, they were the Núcleo de Artes  and may follow and participate in the workshops.

Today, we start contact with tissue, scissors, glue, textures of sea and river.


We sew a carpet that acts as a backdrop to the story of the peruvian Isquierdo Francisco Rios, El Bagrecico.

A story that tells of a amazon fish that his dream is to meet the sea. When he returns home, time passed and he is the new storyteller who can stimulate new dreams to small fish.

The class was interested in course of time. Let laziness aside and get to work. Total inventiveness.

Mountains, rivers collage, glitter, discussions. Also prepared a script presentation that we will use this scenario. It’s the same script tale translated into the lives of young people and their individual and collective dreams.

We came to a troupe that wants to present worldwide and must face a number of challenges for this: robbery, wreck, fights.

But also the notion of group, friendship, companionship, common dreams.

The drinking water is the element that will make one of the characters regain her memory.

They sing songs from brazilian composer Dorival Caymmi, the idea of ​​a “sea that embraces us.”















On April 17th we wrotte the performance show’s preview script. Beyond Bagrecico’s story telling moment, we included in the script, some personals stories, dreams, fears (collectives anda individuals). They were told during improvisations games and taken part of Bagrecico’s main moments.  The main drama’s line will be what it was suggested by the students: a musical, dance theather group travel around the world to tell stories and ask what is the audience’s biggest dream. Until they decide to come back to their own place what they had lived.

Below there is the script’s main points:

Script of the presentation

1) With a beautiful carpet , a teller begins to narrate the fish story to a young boy.

 2) Gradually, arrive more young, sitting beside the boy. All hear the story.

 3) At the time the fish discovers the SEA, the young man gets up and reveals to the audience that this story told at the Center of Arts encouraged him and his friends to go after your biggest dream: a world tour. They do theater, music and dance. Friends recount desires (Africa, Japan , Hollywood).

 4) The young, excited, decide to go traveling. But before leaving, the teller advises: Do not forget to return to Brazil. And take this bottle with clean spring water. It is good for memory!

 5) Young people take bags and leave for the airport in Rio de Janeiro.

 6 ) One of the young is mistaken and has stolen bag. Friends give him clothes for her to wear.

 7 ) They arrive in Africa and find a different culture, a different language. (Sound jam among cultures). They make a presentation and leave. Maybe samba.

 8 ) They take a boat and depart for Asia, but wrecked at sea in Japan. All survive and swim to a beautiful beach where admiring the beauty of the sky and expose their fears.

 9 ) They are found by a messenger who guides them to the Emperor . They present with who goes to the seashore (Caymmi)

 10 ) Take tickets to Hollywood. Photos and flashes. Sheets of newspaper on the floor. Fame and news.

 11 ) Two of them fight. A young man tries to appease them and unwittingly gets a push. He faints and loses his memory and everyone is terrified. To retrieve the memory, clean spring water.

 12 ) Young reclaims memory and tells the end of the fish story. All help narrate. The teller counts the end.

 13 ) And finally the young remember the advice: Do not forget to return to Brazil. (Black Out)

 14 ) Young people are entering the stage of the Chamber Theater of the City of the Arts, recognizing and admiring the space.

 15 ) Closing Music: Suite Fisherman (Caymmi). The young takes many paper boats and go filling the stage .




On April 10, we met again. 


We face a difficulty: attention and concentration on the part of some students is unstable, because of that at the beginning of our meetings we make games that could take the body attention so they can be more widely available appreciably. This happens to some students, but that’s enough to confound all. We see that the games they are more attentive and sensitive, with a better sense of the collective.


After this initial time launched a guiding question for our meeting: “What is your big dream?”. They wrote their dreams on paper. Then ask, “If you had to leave your home, city, country maybe, what dream you want to live? And where?”. This time, each told what would do. We list three countries to make a game more forward with them. And also we list a dream that we were very private. One of the students said had no dream. However, when we asked everyone to write their dreams in a more elaborate way, she wrote that she would like to have a family together. From what she wrote, Warley and I launched the question: ” What kind of collective, group together, you might be able to move between these countries chosen, and what you could accomplish together?” And so they said it could be a group of theater, dance and music that would perform and would make the question to your audience “What is yours dreams?”. With these data we draw our scene for scenically contextualize the narrative of Bagrecico.



In the end, with planning/mold made by them in the previous meeting, together chose the places where the dangers and encounters experienced by Bagrecico could be located within the trajectory drawn by them. Include some dangers mentioned by them in the game. All were invited to bring in the next meeting in patchwork fabrics to compose the scene.





The stories gaining forms.


On 03 April, the workshop was taught by Helena Contente, also part of our group, Carpets Storytellers . Helena is one of the artists responsible for the preparation of our materials . On this day , after rhythmic heating with a clapping , she asked students to tell the story of Bagrecico. As Helena says, had an emotional involvement on their part with the trajectory of the protagonist of this story. Then each was asked to narrate a story of family. Then, collectively, all improvised a story with a great adventure, each narrating a slice of history, and the sign of the palm of Helena, moved to another. From that everyone had to write three dangers that can occur on a trip. The dangers, the great adventure and the stories of family are issues raised by them belonging to Bagrecico history, and wish to deepen these themes to discover a screenplay together and that these stories can comes on top mixed with the tale.


The last part of the workshop was to begin planning the carpet/panel that they will have to concoct to tell the story of Bagrecico. Together we mapped the start, the course and the end of history on a large sheet of paper. They had to discuss, to agree, arguing this planning. It is a very important time for them to consolidate their views on the narrative.
